We just got back from a little family vacay to San Diego. My husband and I went there for a wedding over 9yrs ago, but I think this time we really enjoyed the heck out of it. I made a list of all of the things I wanted to do and see and we conquered all in almost 4 days. I just can’t get over the beauty, it’s just unreal! There’s so many beautiful places in this world, and Dallas is just not one of them… But we’ve got an awesome economy here and the cost of living is cheap! 😉
I mean, can sunsets get any prettier??? SD, you make me need a vacation home pronto.
One of my most favorite things to do is walk around old cemeteries. Call me weird or strange, but I love it. Just gives me an appreciation for this beautiful gift of life that God’s blessed us with. While in San Diego we got the honor and privilege of going through Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. I have never been to a federal cemetery, and it was really overwhelming. Over 112,000 soldiers and their families are represented in the most gorgeous setting I’ve ever experienced. All of these people sacrificed themselves for our freedom to be the United States of America. What they do for you and me is incredible. Just hearing about the search and rescue missions that my cousin-in-law goes on blows my mind.
I’ll do another post on a later date highlighting how to vacation in San Diego with small children. We had such a great time!
In the meantime, I wanted to let you all know that I finally got my 100lb punching bag hung. I’ve been wanting one for quite some time, sold a bunch of stuff so I could buy it and then after a couple of months of sitting in a box in the garage, I got it hung!!! So, I actually got it hung twice. The first time I tried it out, it went flying through the air. Yeah… the only part that I contributed to the mount, popped off and the bag went soaring. I was fine, thank God! 2nd time, it worked! I do need to get a shorter spring, bc it’s a little too bouncy, but my hands are still shaking from my first 20min workout. I used to box 2-3 times a week, our gym had a room of bags and classes. But it closed down shortly after I had Luciana 4yrs ago. Most boxing gyms don’t have childcare and are only for boxing, so I haven’t been able to box since. I’m on cloud9. It’s amazing how a punching bag can make me so happy. I’m not a “workout at home” type of chick, it just doesn’t work for me, but on the days where something comes up or one of my kids is sick, I can go outside right on my porch, out of the house and get to it!
Here’s my beautiful bag:
I downloaded an app and used a youtube video the first time around. Let me know if you have any suggestions where I can download some workout sessions. I like to have someone yelling and telling me what to do.
